Laurence Troussart is a counsel at eMotio.law and has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2010.
Laurence has been assisting tech companies since the beginning of her career.
Laurence is an IP, IT and data protection lawyer:
- she helps clients in implementing processes and carrying out registrations to protect their intangible assets (data, trademarks, goodwill, trade secrets and patents)
- she assists clients in taking the necessary steps to ensure compliance with IT regulations, including GDPR and NIS (cybersecurity)
- she assists clients in drafting IT and licence agreements
- she provides trainings in data protection and cybersecurity
- she acts as external data protection officer (DPO)
Laurence is also a dispute resolution lawyer, with a focus on unfair competition.
Laurence worked for 3 years for a renowned financial auditing and consultancy firm. She is a professor at EPFC, where she teaches IP, media and data protection law to 3rd Bachelor students.
Laurence graduated from the University of Leuven (KUL) in 2009. She also holds a postgraduate Master’s degree in Information Technology and Communication Law from the University of Namur (UNamur) obtained in 2010.
